POSITION: CLINICAL INTERN

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/CLINICAL DIRECTOR

 

DESCRIPTION: The position is to provide support to all clinical and administrative staff to up hold expectations of said parties. To ensure the agency’s rules and regulations are being followed. To ensure the integrity of the agency and population served is being upheld. Developing clinically appropriate, boundary driven, supportive relationships with the population served. Functioning as a liaison between administration, clinical and the population served.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living; reports and assists with patient behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as
  • Works with other members of a multi-disciplinary team in leading milieu activities such as current groups, community meetings, goals groups, fitness groups, activities of daily living groups, and/or recreational activities, as appropriate to the specified patient
  • Charts patient observations, activities in accordance to the designated 30 minute intervals
  • Participates in the development and implementation of patient treatment
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient
  • Attends and participates in group sessions, in-service education, and staff
  • Maintains established institutional rules and regulations, policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; directly related, completed degrees from accredited institutions may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

 

  • Ability to interact with faculty and/or staff in a team
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control
  • Knowledge of certification requirements and
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and
  • Ability to provide basic therapeutic care or intervene when appropriate on the population served
  • Ability to understand and follow safety
  • Ability to assess and provide for the day-to-day needs of mentally, emotionally and/or co-occurring diagnosed
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining patient
  • Knowledge of patient care charts and patient
  • Ability to communicate and interact with mental health professionals in a team environment.
